Lancashire Dragonfly Atlas Project
A three-year tetrad mapping exercise is beginning this spring with the object of mapping the distributions of all the dragonfly and damselfly species found within Lancashire, Greater Manchester and North Merseyside.
About 15-18 species are likely to be found within our area so it is not very difficult to learn to identify them, and observing them fits in well with birdwatching. Volunteers are required to help with this survey over the next 3 years.
A new website has been set up relating to the Atlas project. It can be found at http://www.dragonflies.org.uk. The site is currently under construction so some sections are not yet fully functional.
